New England Autumn
This is a slice histogram of over 2 million slices from a subset of images from New England tagged "autumn" by Yahoo Flickr's classifiers. The distribution variable is saturation, and the slices are vertically sorted by hue. When compared against the overall slice histogram for images in the yfcc100m dataset, this plot stands out as containing a disproportionate amount of saturated oranges, yellows, and reds. This is not shocking, given how we chose our images, but this plot confirms what we might expect, and portrays that expectation in rich detail.
