I am a Postdoctoral Associate in Computer Science at Yale University, working in the Digital Humanities Laboratory. I am also a member of the Cultural Analytics Lab. I am a recent graduate of UCSD's Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program in Cognitive Science. I develop visualization theory, techniques, and tools for scientific research.

My work is motivated by the belief that human bias is important and has no machine substitute. It is my goal to help make perceptual access to the “data universe” as direct and immediate as possible, so that biased, human judging can apprehend it. For further elaboration, read my research statement.
